Born in the UK Dom has always been surrounded by horses from a young age, growing up on the family farm in Gloucestershire only 15 minutes down the road from the famous Cheltenham racecourse. Most would say Dom was almost destined to work in horse racing one way or another with a deep family connection to the sport and horses in general. &ldquo;My father Nick Sutton has been my main influence into the racing game. I remember from a young age going to watch dad as an Amateur jockey riding at the point to point&rsquo;s and that&rsquo;s where my passion for the sport grew.&rdquo; Dom's teenage years were spent riding as a category B licence which allows you to ride in the professional ranks. &ldquo;We had some great success and I learned a lot about the game but also the horse itself over those years. One of the most memorable moments was when both dad and I rode a winner on the same day&hellip;not many people can say that!&rdquo; Once Dom left school he worked for some of the top trainers on both the flat and national hunt circuit with the likes of Andrew Balding and Warren Greatrex. At the age of 19 Dom came to Australia to learn about the industry. Where he worked and rode Chris Waller where he spent a year and a half working with some of the best horses in the world. During his time at Wallers he met fianc&eacute;e Raquel &ldquo;We have the same vision, and the same goal&rdquo;. Dom was then offered a role at Malua Racing at Flemington to then become head assistant trainer which is a position he held for 6 years. During this time he brought multiple international clientele through the yard, and held his own ownership shares in horses he aided in training. The line of success during that time included multiple group and listed winners which were under his care. Most recently Dom was in charge of The Astrologist on his world tour to Dubai, finishing 2nd in the Group 1 Al Quoz Sprint and then onto the UK where he finished 2nd in a Group 3 and running a highly credible race at Royal Ascot finishing 5th in Platinum Jubilee against the best sprinters in the world. Moving forward, Sutton Racing envisions runners/ownership at all levels. Encapsulating a team with a level of confidence, commitment, communication and integrity.

A Sydney Northern beaches girl Raquel has lived and breathed horses her whole life from showing, dressage, endurance riding, eventing, breaking and racing all professionally. Raquel has been in the background of the racing scene since 2007 quietly building and absorbing experience, having been entrusted to travel for trainers like Gerald Ryan and Chris Waller for prestigious racing world wide. For success across nearly every trip away from Western Australia GR1, Queensland GR1, Melbourne GR1, Sydney GR1, Dubai &amp; Royal Ascot. Raquel&rsquo;s passion is to live everyday with a fresh set of eyes thinking outside the box, whilst also relying on the 16 years of experience having known what works. From working with horses like Melito, Rothesay, Preferment, Tom Melbourne, Good Project and Winx and more. They say two minds are better than one, collaborating with Equine Scientists/Phd recruits from ArioneoTM (data collection) eg; sectionals/form/heart rate/stride length/frequency/recovery and lactate readings. As a rider, trainers at the highest level in this sport have trusted her to encapsulate the &ldquo;feel&rdquo;. Raquel has been, and will be an extension of Dom when it comes to education and fitness training. Raquel is a handy all rounder who knows what it takes to get the best out of your athlete and knows racing at its core to try and make your racing experience with Sutton Racing as predictable yet exciting as possible.

Raquel Bennett

First and foremost a mother of 2 young girls, with a passion for family and racing. Partner to jockey Blaike McDougall and daughter of country NSW trainer Donna Scott, racing is deeply embedded into her family and day to day life. Danielle started her career in racing in 2011, moving to Sydney along side her mother Donna Scott to work for Darley under head trainer at the time Peter Snowden. The rest is history. 12 years of experience later after working for multiple metropolitan group 1 trainers it seemed only a natural progression for Danielle to move her career into a different avenue of racing. You may see Danielle occasionally riding track work for us but predominantly her role lies within our office, she has a niche for ensuring businesses are running smoothly and after recently launching her own small business 'Level Up Racing Solutions' assisting trainers in empowering their finances and assisting in the day-to-day operations of a stable ,she is the perfect fit for Sutton Racing and our clients.
